The bilingual Americana/blues GOTHAM ROOTS ORCHESTRA (GRO), New York City music veteranos, use American roots musics, bad-ass guitars, and ready-to-stomp beats as a reference point for their chingón sound. Featuring anti-stupid songs about regular folks, dogs, comadres, veterans, black coffee, villains, capitalists, heroes, La Migra, repo men, SEX of course, and the NOW Americano life. Fronted by guitarists Cristian Amigo and Angela Babin and propelled by the ace bass of David Gould and the Cuban rock drumming of Diablo,  Brooklyncountry.com writes, “the early ZZ Top guitar blues pops and pumps in all the right places.” And that’s just one piece of the pie. Iiiiight!!!!!

Michael Gomez (Wormwood, Bootleg Remedy, Hazmat Modine, Greta Gertler & The Extroverts) leads his band from hot jazz and swing to delta blues and early country – mixing the fingerpicking style of a Blind Lemon Jefferson with jazz inflected lines inspired by Charlie Christian, Sun Ra covers and original compositions. Soulful performances of original and traditional roots music.

Dog Adrift is a music group led by guitarist Michael Quoma and featuring members of New York’s rock, jazz, and contemporary music scene.  “Part Thrill Jockey, part surf-rocky,” the group plays compositions that wind their way through tempos and timbres, while Telecaster and Nord-driven melodies give way to free improvisations and pedalboard interference.
